Finshed project

Lance has been busy! He started school this week and is really enjoying it. It's keeping him busy and he has been studying and working hard! For those who don't know he's working on getting into the Radiology Tech program. This year he's doing all his generals. Besides school he finished off the dresser/changing table and as promised here's some pictures. He did a great job, especially for his first major project! I really love it! This is one of the pictures in the babies room and I decided take a picture of it to put on here because we both love it so much! One of my friends gave it to us for a baby gift. Neither Lance or I have seen it before and I love just looking at it every time I walk by the babies room.

We're still here, with no baby

So half a week until my due date and we're still here just waiting and waiting. I'm done with work now which is nice except I'll be starting my "maternity leave" next week and no baby yet. Hopefully he'll decide to come sometime soon but I'm not holding my breath. I really think I'll end up going over my due date. My appointment this past week they checked me for the first time. All I can say about that, people don't lie when they say that is unpleasant! So I'm not really dilated at all yet but it's "softening" and the baby's head is way down in there. I could've told the doctor the part about the babies head being way down there since I've felt it way down there for about a month now. I still haven't felt any contractions. To bad just having a head pushing to get out isn't doing enough otherwise we'd have a baby by now. We shall see what the next couple weeks bring. So anybody have any guesses as to when this baby will arrive? :)

Lance's latest project

Lance decided he wanted to make a dresser/changing table a long time ago and has been so busy this summer he hasn't had time to start it yet. With the baby's due date getting closer and him starting school on Monday I think his nesting instinct has set in and he decided to get going on his project. He is doing a great job so far and it's looking great! I can't wait to see what it looks like all done.

Life's not always fair but sometimes it works in your favor

So months ago when my skirts and dresses started getting a little snug I found a couple of dresses at Old Navy that would work when I grew a bit larger in size. I ended up not ever wearing one of them and decided to return it this past week. So I took it in with my receipt only to discover it was over the 90 days since I had purchased it (I hadn't realized it had been that long). So they said they could only treat it as a return without a receipt and give it to me for whatever the current price was but that it'd probably be clearance price. So when they rang it up to see what the current price was it was still the regular price. Wahoo! However, I felt bad because I hadn't paid full price to start with since I'd used a 20% off when I'd bought it. I find it rather odd that due to their funny policies I end up getting back more than I actually paid for it but they said there was nothing they could do to adjust for what I'd actually paid. Oh well! On a side note that day I also found a couple of cute classic Whinny the Pooh onesies on Target's clearance for an amazing deal! Any guesses?! Well they were 61 cents a piece. Yep, that's right $0.61! I think they had been in a set or package or something that somebody must have taken apart so they were just trying to get rid of them. I do believe that they are the cheapest piece of clothing I've ever bought!

Haven't had one of these in a while

So last but not least for this set of post here's the latest profile shot. I'll be 37 weeks in a few days. My fingers and toes have gotten a little swollen as I tried putting my ring on the other day and it didn't want to go on at all. I'm also noticing my face looks a little bigger too. Maybe it's just this picture.... or at least we'll pretend it is! :) I'm feeling pretty good, just pregnant. My heartburn continues (but I've had that pretty much the whole pregnancy) and my back aches haven't been as constant as they were at the beginning of my third trimester which has been nice. Mostly it just kicks up when I've been working or up walking around a ton during the day. I've been super tired the last few days and haven't felt like doing too much. Not a good thing since I still need to finish getting the nursery organized and cleaned out a little. We got our crib set up (Lance did it while I was at work so I don't have any action pictures). Have our comfy recliner, carseat, portable crib complete with bassinet that we'll use for the first little while. Lance is still planning on building a dresser/changing table to match the crib but hasn't gotten to it yet. I'll be excited when that gets started and finished because I'm really wanting a dresser to organize and put his clothes in. Last week I got blankets washed and some of the newborn outfits washed and ready. I didn't wash all the newborn outfits figuring we'll wait and see how big the little guy is. Our bag is all packed and ready for the hospital, minus the list of things we'll have to grab on the way out the door. We're planning on taking our computer so hopefully we'll be able to post some pictures after he has arrived. Oh and he's been moving and active plenty through the day today so I haven't had to worry about him today. When the baby's room get a little more straightened out I'll post pictures of the crib and such.

Baby Shower #2

My SILs and MIL threw me a shower at my house for our family around here and my friends in the ward. It turned out very cute and tons of fun! Kandra of course didn't make it since she decided to have a baby a couple days before, I don't blame her! Jami, Lynn, and Melissa did such a great job on all the decorations, games, and food. I so appreciated them trowing the shower for me! I had a lot of fun and really appreciated all my family and friends for coming. It helps to have so many people who care about us! I know it is really going to help when the little guy arrives - he's going to be pretty stylin' with all the great things everybody got for him. Here's my mom and sis, Lara. I really owe my mom who came down and stayed for a few days and helped Lance get the house all cleaned and ready to go. Thanks again mom! I guess I'm paying her back by giving her another grandchild. I can't remember if I've said but our little guy will be #6 for my parents and #12 for Lance's so he gets to be a dozen and half a dozen, that'll make it easy to remember. Melissa and her girls and Lynn working in the kitchen. Me with Natalie and Lara. Jami, Lynn, and Paige working on some cute decorations. And the last prego picture of the two of us (with Lance getting in there too). Jami had her little girl this last week (both are doing well) so the Nebeker order/curse has remainded. So I guess it's my turn next but I'm still fine with a few more weeks!

Family Party and Baby Shower

Last month we had a family party and baby shower for my dad's side of the family. My brother and his family were in town from Michigan so it was also the first time we got to meet our nephew Briton who was born earlier this year. He's a cutie! Very smiley! It was so fun to get to spend time with family and we got some very cute things for the baby. My family minus my sister at the baby shower/pool party. Family picture with my grandma and grandpa. I love Abby giving grandma a hug! My grandma and I with Briton. I love this picture of my grandma with some of her great grandkids. She's trying to get them to all hold hands for the picture. They're all trying to figure out what she's doing. A few days later I went to my parents to spend some more time with my SIL Marinda, Abby, and Brit while they were in town. Here's a cute picture with Brit and my sister's baby Natalie. On the way home from my parents I stopped to meet up with Kandra for a minute. We tried to get our last prego picture together since Kandra was due soon but unfortunately the only one around to take the picture was Syd, which wouldn't have turned out so well, so this is the best we got....from the trunk of my car. Kandra has since had her baby boy and both are doing well. I got to meet him for a little bit this weekend and was glad I got to see him before my little one arrives because I'm sure I won't be doing to much traveling for a while.

Heartbeat

So tonight I had a first. It was the first time I was able to hear our baby's heartbeat with my stethoscope. Since stethoscopes aren't as sensitive as Doppler's (what the doctors office uses) it's always kind of iffy if you can pick up the heart beat or not. The baby has to be in just the right spot. I've tried over the last few months every once in a while to see if I can pick it up but never have been able to. Tonight was the perfect night for the little guy to decided to cooperate because he's had me a little worried all day. He's wasn't as active as he usually is all afternoon (of course I didn't wake up until 11:30, I've been a bit tired) so I was downing the water to make sure I was plenty hydrated and paying close attention to him. No worries though because this evening he has been plenty active. I'm thinking he's just getting a little cramped since he's growing so much these last few weeks. I am definitely feeling like he is pushed against me to the max. I wasn't hearing anything at first as I was moving my stethoscope around to different spots and then after stopping on one spot for a minute he suddenly moved into the perfect spot so I could hear his glorious heartbeat, beating soundly and strong at around 160 beats per minute. He stayed there for a couple minutes for me to hear and then started moving and flipping all over and I lost his heartbeat. He made mommy very happy tonight! :) Lance wasn't here so he didn't get to hear it so we'll have to try again tomorrow. We've been staying pretty busy with baby showers and getting everything ready for the baby's arrival so I have plenty of pictures and things I need to post but I have been feeling so tired and not gotten around to posting any of them. I'll try to in the next few days but we shall see. It's crazy knowing he could be here in just a few weeks!
