Tons of updates!
So I've posted tons of updates! Sorry to overload you all at once! Blogging has just kind of gotten away from me this summer. Some of the posts I had started (like his b-day post) but never finished and published. So if you want to see everything you'll have to scroll back a few months! Since I love pictures of Carter I thought I'd add these ones that people in my family would enjoy. This shirt is an old family reunion shirt from when I was a little kid. My mom and I found it in my old doll clothes when I was help her sort through some things before they moved.
I think this was a picture of him stretching but you get to see the shirt well too.
Another trip
A couple weeks ago Carter and I went up with Lance to Idaho Falls. While he was at clinicals Carter and I got to have lots of fun. We saw a few of my old friends, and I didn't take pictures. We also were able to meet up with my parents. We went with my mom to the best dairy ever to get some of the best chocolate milk and ice cream! Carter had fun looking at the baby cows. Then he through a huge random tantrum inside the middle of the store. Good times! He ended up with strawberry ice cream all over him. I also discovered that he doesn't care for ice cream cones, I'll stick with a cup next time.
My parents are staying at a friends house. Carter loved jumping on their trampoline. Here he is waving at my dad who was on a riding lawn mower mowing the grass. Carter waved at him every time he went past, which was a lot of times because they have a large yard. Carter still talks about "bam-pa" (grandpa) and the "mom mower" (lawn mower) and the "mess" (grass). It apparently left quite and impression on him.
Check out that static hair!
Action shot.
They also had slide that he loved going down. I wish we had something like this for our back yard! I told Lance that next summer he's in charge of building a little set just for some swings like what they had, you can see behind the slide.
Wyoming
I had mentioned in a previous post that Lance and Carter went for a weekend to his parents. Well the weather didn't cooperate and they weren't able to pour the concrete pad so we all went up the next weekend. Carter LOVES playing outside at grandma and grandpa's. He liked helping daddy.
He liked playing with the tools, that he was allowed to touch, the rock pile and even managed to get in the left over concrete at one point.
Carter had lots of fun with his cousins. This pictures turned out blurry but I love Carter's face. It explains just how much fun he had.
They spent lots of time climbing up the play house and going down the slide, over and over and over again.
It was a fun quick trip! I'm not sure how Carter will fair when were up there in the winter and he's not allowed to play outside.
St. George Vacation
August was the month that Lance had off from school so I took a few days off work so we could go down to St. George to my parents. On the way down we stopped to see my sweet grandma. This was probably the last time we got to see her since she's not doing very well now.
The weather was nice and hot! A little too hot during the heat of the day. It was a nice trip and a lot of the time we just relaxed. Lance and I caught a movie. We went to see Little Mermaid at Tuacahn one night, which was fabulous! We made a few trips to the park by their house with the splash pad.
Sunday after church we went down to the temple grounds. Is this just the cutest boy you have ever seen? Hard to imagine that he can ever be grumpy.
The next morning my mom watched Carter while Lance and I went to the temple and then to lunch. It was nice to have a little date together! The last time we did a session at the St. George temple was on our honeymoon.
After the temple on Sunday we went around to some of the other church sites. Here is Carter checking out the outside of Brigham Young's House.
We also enjoyed going to the rec center's swimming pool on one of the days. Carter enjoyed going down the little slides but was not too excited when the water buckets would dump down. He watched mom and dad go down the big slide and acted like he wanted to go down too. He'll have to wait a few years for that one.
Carter had fun on the red rocks on his terms. He did not want to sit in the holes for pictures.
He did like climbing them.
He also liked the edge and kept trying to escape our grasp to get a closer look.
Not wanting to see how close he'd get, with horrible thoughts of him falling down below if he got away, we kept a tight hold of him and didn't spend to long at those heights.
Back down on the ground he was free to walk around to his hearts content. He had lots of fun kicking and throwing the red rocks.
We also went to the splash park in downtown St. George. It was really fun but definitely more crowded. Carter had fun climbing on the water fall.
And walking around on the rocks.
Down by the splash park there is this beautiful (and very nicely priced) carousel. This was the first time Carter had ever been on one. Before it started he started to get bored and want to get down. Once it started going he wasn't sure about it at first.
After a couple spins around he had decided it was one of the best things ever and loved riding on his "horsey."
We spent the night in SLC on our way home. We stopped to see my grandpa. Carter had fun throwing the ball back and forth with him.
My aunt and uncle were nice enough to let us stay at their house. They have the old swing set that use to be at my paternal grandparents house. I played on this all the time when I was a kid. Carter enjoyed the swing too.
The next morning before we headed home we met up with my sister-in law Marinda and her kids. Carter instantly took to Abby. I don't know if it's because Abby is so easy to say or if he could just tell how awesome she is. He wanted to sit next to Abby for breakfast and ever time she got up to get something he would call after her "Abby, Abby" until she came back. He kept holding her hand when we went on a walk. Abby didn't like that he just kept trying to hold one of her fingers and not her hold hand. He's not use to having someone his size that he can actually hold their hold hand. He still talks about Abby here and there. When he talks on the phone lots of times he'll start saying things about Abby. He loves seeing pictures of her!
All ready for our walk.
Grandpa found a little fort for the kids. Then we went back and played on the play ground.
It was nice to get to see some more of our family for a few hours. We wish we would've been able to stay longer.
Fair Time
Labor Day we went out to the fair. Carter always loves looking at the animals. He also had fun playing with our friends James and Cindy who we met up with. Like any good Nebeker, he loved the goats. It is really funny when he says "goat."
He also loved the big horses and had no fear walking up to them to try and pet them. When you ask him what a horse says it sounds something like "Huuuhhhh."
I wasn't quite as nervous about him walking up to the miniature horses. He loves them and kept calling them babies.
Quick trip
The middle of September Carter and I made a quick trip over to American Falls to see Lance's sisters. The next day we met up with Lance so that he could take Carter with him to his parents for the weekend while they poured some concrete at their house. I had to work that weekend. Carter loves his cousin Bryn. When we pulled up in front of their house he got this huge smile on his face and started saying "Byn, byn, byn!" It amazes me at how good a memory he can have. It had been a while since we'd been to their house but apparently he remembered. Carter and Bryn had fun jumping on the bed. Then Carter started tackling and wrestling Bryn which she didn't find quite as fun.
After Bryn's bath later that evening Carter decided he should take a bath too and climbed in the draining tub with his diaper and onesie on. He was soaked but he didn't care.
2 year Doctor Apt.
Carter had his 2 year check-up on September 9th. The pediatricians have moved into new offices by the new hospital since his last visit. He loved the room he was in since their were trains all around the ceiling. He was not impressed that he couldn't reach the trains and play with them. He also loved out the window that their was a man mowing the lawn. He talked a lot about the lawn mower. Here are Carter's stats:
On one of those quite moments I went to see what he was doing. He had pulled out all the diapers from his dresser (which he does a lot) and stacked them on his car.
Then he tried to climb on top.
He also got both his feet stuck in one of my boots. He needed a little help getting out of this once he fell over.

Swimming Lessons
During the summer Carter and I went to a "mommy and me" swim class at the city pool. I've wanted to do this with him since last summer and I'm so glad we did. He loved singing the songs in the water, jumping off the side to me, and splashing. He did not like floating on his back or tummy or anything that involved being too far from me or his head getting wet. The only time I could get him to willingly float on his tummy was when he had a kick board or something to hang onto.
This would be the usual reaction I'd get when I'd try to get him to float or kick on his tummy or back.
I'm glad my mom was able to come one of the days so that we could get some pictures.
