Very Thankfull

I have a lot to post about the past week but this is all for now. I was working over Thanksgiving so this post of thanks is a little late. I could not be more grateful this year for my life!!! All due to these wonderful two guys. It's amazing how much Carter has already grown!

Early Thanksgiving

Since I have to work this Thanksgiving, some of my family came up for an early Thanksgiving. My parents and one of my brothers and his family were here. It was so much fun having them all! Here's just a few pictures from the weekend. My dad set up this pose for Carter, he thought it was pretty funny. Three cousins. My parents with three of their grandkids. I'll post some other pictures later.

Just some pictures

This is one his three month outfits. Can't believe he fits it already! Right now he's wearing 0-3months and just getting into a few of the 3mo ones. Sucking his thumb in the swing. Sleeping with his thumb. So cute! Chillin' with dad. I think these two always look so cute together!

Baby's and overalls (and a picture for Uncle Keith)

What is it with baby's and overalls? They are so stinkin' cute in them! I loved this outfit I put on Carter this morning. He looked so adorable! Even Lance said how cute he looked when he got home. However right after Lance took this picture I noticed that Carter's right backside was feeling a little wet. That's right he wet through his diaper. I guess at least he waited until after the picture to do it, right..... So this is the outfit he got changed into, also cute and I took a picture for Carter's Uncle Keith. He picked out this onesie for Carter and I wanted to make sure he had a picture of him in it looking all cute.

Thumb Sucker

Just a pitcher showing how strong Carter is getting. So I've been trying to get a cute pitcher of Carter sucking his thumb but this is all I've gotten so far. Last night when I laid him in his bed, he startled himself for a minute and started sucking on it and fell back asleep. He looked so cute but I didn't want to take a picture and run the risk of waking him up. Speaking of last night, that thumb must do the trick because he slept for over 10 hours last night. He also is getting over his first little cold. He's just been stuffy which he doesn't like because that means mom and dad break out the nasal bulb aspirator which he hates!

Favorite Family Picture?

So I need some help picking a family photo to hang on our wall. A friend in our ward wanted to do some pictures of Carter and we love pictures of our boy so how could we refuse! :) Carter was about two months here. We decided to get quite a few with all of us so we could have a family photo and I also wanted to get some in his blessing outfit since he was getting blessed that coming Sunday. So let me know your favorite of the family photos...I think I know which one I'll probably end up blowing up but I'm curious to see which one other people like. Choice #1 - I really like this one of Lance and I but of course Carter happened to fall asleep. :) Choice #2 - This one I always kind of laugh at because I think Carter looks so huge in my arms. Do I look old enough to have a baby?! :) Choice #3 Choice #4 And this is the one I'm thinking of getting blown up! j/k Carter was getting tired and fussy. We just love his little mad face (is that bad?!) but we think it's so cute sometimes. Since he was fussing (and we weren't done yet, mean parents!) we turned on the handy dandy blow dryer to settle him down. Unfortunately, it worked a little too well and he ended up falling asleep (see choice #1)...which is precious but just not quite what I was wanting. Here's just some other cute one of our growing boy! We absolutely love his smile and think he is just the cutest!!! He just makes me melt when he smiles like this.

We have ourselves a thumb sucker

The last few days Carter has really started to understand he has hands and what he needs to do to get them up to his face. It is funny to watch when he's wanting to suck on something because he'll start smacking and then he brings one of his hands (doesn't seem to matter which one) up to his face. He'll start sucking on his fist until he gets a hold of just his thumb and then he starts sucking on it. He loves his thumb it seems. Sometimes he loves it a little too much as he starts to gag himself when he's chowing down a little to much on it. While he's sucking on his thumb his other fingers are spread out on his cheek and he grabs his cheek - sometimes he pokes his eyes (he closes his eyelids first). It's pretty funny to watch him "click" into realizing he has hands. I've been trying to get a good video of it but haven't been able to yet. I'm glad he has found his thumbs since he has never been much of a pacifier sucker. He'll take them when we're at church and in stores and such but rarely really sucks on them at home. Kind of weird I think. Oh well. I'll post the video when I'm able to get one of him.

2 Months

Our boy has some chunks on him now. So this post is a day late but the pictures are from yesterday, so it's all good. I wanted to include Carter's stats from his doctor's appointment today anyway. He did great although he didn't enjoy his three shots but he did enjoy his grape flavored tylenol.
  • Height: 22 3/4 inches (21 at birth) which puts him in the 50th percentile
  • Weight: 12 pounds 2 oz (7lbs 14oz at birth) which also is the 50th percentile
Our boy it appears is just perfectly average. :)
  • Head circumference: 15.5cm (I don't remember off hand what it was at birth) which is just below the 50th percentile (Jami, I don't think Carter is going to be taking after his cousin Austin) :)
Things Carter likes to do:
  • Loves smiling and "talking", especially at mom and dad
  • Has made a few small chuckles
  • Enjoys sitting in his swing and watching the fish on it spin around above him
  • Enjoys his bouncy seat and kicking his legs all over
  • He's great at moving his head back and forth to look at everything
  • Continues to love looking at lights
  • Enjoys stretching when he wakes up. He puts his arms high above his head and stretches them and his legs as far as they will go.
  • Continues to sleep through the night for 7-9 hours
  • Has strong legs and is great at standing (with help) and holding his head high
  • He's also getting good at pushing against things or people with his legs
  • His hair has lightened with some reddish tints along with the brown and thinned some, much to my dismay
  • His eyes are still blue
  • Often finds his fingers especially his thumb to suck on
  • When he is unbelievably unhappy and nothing is making him happy, he settles right away with turning on either the blow dryer or vacuum - works like a charm every time
We love our boy and enjoy watching him grow. I sometimes get a little sad to see him growing so fast. The other day I reluctantly admitted to myself that he has grown out of most of his newborn clothes and I put them away and got out the next size. Most of them are still a little big on him for now. It was so strange putting away his little clothes not knowing when I'll see them again.

A Wonderful Day

Warning: Picture Overload! Today we had the wonderful opportunity of blessing our handsome boy. It was a beautiful day weather wise which was just perfect for the special occasion. Lance gave a wonderful blessing and we were blessed to have many family and friends there for the day. We are so grateful for those family and friends who traveled here for the great day! However, we also had many of our family members who weren't able to make it so I'm posting a bunch of pictures mostly for them. One of my aunts made this beautiful blanket and I was so glad it got here the day before his blessing so we could use it on his special day. One of my aunts. We were so glad she was able to make the trip up to meet Carter! We love you! My parents with their newest grandson. Lance's parents (and their little baby). 4 generations. Lance's great grandma wasn't able to make it up. We are sure glad we were able to see her and have her meet Carter at our nephews blessing last month. My two boys with Lance's dad. My family that was able to make it. Happy little family. :) Lance's family and a few friends that were able to make it. Thanks so much for coming! Our boy after his special day. He is all ready for a good night sleep. We love him so much!!! Once again, thanks to all our family and friends who were able to make it! We know there are many of you who wished you could have been here and we missed you but understand. We love you all so much and appreciate your support. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people to be a part of our life and Carter's.
