Quarter of a Century
So it's official, I can rent a car now. My brithday was a couple days before Christmas. This year we were traveling during a lot of the day but that's ok because I was with my two favorite guys. Lance's family surprised me with a yummy chocolate cake the night before. Lance says I never get surprised but I really didn't see that coming. Lance had already gotten me a heated electric mattress pad that I had been wanting. We both love it! It makes it so great coming home from work to be able to have a warm bed! I love it! And it has separate controls for each of our sides so I can have it as warm as I want and not worry about boiling Lance. I had really been wanting a key lime cheesecake for my birthday but when Lance tried to get one from Costco they informed him they won't make them again until the spring. Lucky for Lance he has a nice mommy who he got to make one for me. It was so yummy!
Here's a little family picture from my birthday. I know it's not really that old but 25 seems old to me!
Carter's 1st Christmas
So the day did not go as well as I wish it would have. We spent pre-Christmas with all of Lance's family at his sister's house and then we went with one of his brother's to go spend some time at his parent's house. It was great getting to visit with everyone. Unfortunately Christmas day itself wasn't so fun for my little family. Lance was puking the night before and morning of, so needless to say wasn't feeling well and spent most the time on the couch. We didn't even get a family picture so we'll have to get one in the next few days. I ended up with a sore throat and poor little Carter got his second cold. He is going on 4 days of it now so hopefully he gets over it soon. His poor little nose is so stuffy and dry and crusty and he has this quiet little "fake" sounding cough. All things considered, Carter is still the same usual happy baby for the most part. The only part he really hates is when we have to suck out his nose or wipe it. He gets so mad! What a trooper! Last night I guess was a little rough for him and daddy (while I was at work), he kept coughing and kept daddy up. We opted to stay home from church since our little guy was feeling so icky.
Here's few pictures that I did get from the day.
Hanging with grandma and playing with one of his cousin's new toys.
Carter was very entranced by the toys grandma and grandpa N gave him.
Our 2/3 family picture in front of the little tree at grandma and grandpa's.
Carter's cute little snow suit that Grandma W found for him last year. It kept him warm up in that cold Wyoming weather!
Also Carter has now officially rolled over lying flat on his tummy to his back. He did it at his Aunt Jami's in his cousin Bryn's crib.

Funny Boy
So a couple days ago Carter fell asleep while he was in his swing. As I've mentioned before Carter loves sucking on things: his fingers, his hands, his pacifier, your finger, etc. So we often have a burp cloth under his chin to try and keep the clothes a little cleaner when he spits up. Anyway, I walked past him and this is what I found. I thought it was so funny!
Lots of times he ends up sucking/chewing on his blankets but usually because it gets in the way when he brings his hands up to his mouth. I've never seen him before just keep his blanket in his mouth though.

Talking Boy
Here's the previously mentioned video of our "talking" boy.
Carter is doing so well, other than the fact that he has gotten so spitty the last month. He seems to spit up all the time these days. I'm not sure if he still has some reflux and he's spitting up now that he's been off his medicine or what. We still love him though. Last night when we were visiting some friends he even managed to spit up when both of them were holding him and one of the times added some extra something to their coffee.

Laughing Away
Lance is so great at making Carter laugh. He took this video when I was at work the other night. We're a little biased but we think he's stinkin' cute when he giggles! Sorry the video is sideways. I don't think there's a way to flip it on our camera. We also were able to get a video of him "talking" that I'll have to post. I was distracting him and Lance was being sneeky so Carter didn't see the camera and stop to just stare.
Carter Rolled Over
So on Friday Carter rolled over for the first time. It wasn't like a complete official roll over because he wasn't lying flat on the ground. I had him on his tummy with a pillow under his head and chest and he was propping himself up on his arms. He got his legs scooting and pushing and pushed himself up enough on his side that gravity followed and over he went. We thought it was pretty fun and best of all we were both there and saw him do it because I could tell he was getting close to doing it.
This is from a different day but he was propping himself like this when he rolled over. Love his smile!
What?!
Carter enjoys looking at the lights. I wish we had ones that flickered on and off. He'd love those!

Three Months
Our baby boy is 3 months old! This is a little belated. I should just not work on the 1st of every month so I can make sure and get the post on our growing babe done! I even forgot/remember at inopportune moments to take his picture.
As you can see he is great at smiling. He also has the cutest little giggle. It almost sounds like he's gurgling.
From our scale here at home we're guessing he's somewhere between 13 1/2 - 14 lbs. He's mostly in bed for the night between 8-9 and sleeps anywhere from 7-10 hours. It's so nice! He's started sucking on a pacifier more, he seems to prefer the Mam ones currently. However, he still loves sucking on his fingers, thumb, fist or ours if he can get his mouth on them. Still has blue blue eyes and his hair is lighter with almost a auburn tinge to it. He continues to amaze us with his strength at holding his head up and standing on his legs. He'll have these little spurts where he starts jumping and kicking. He also during these burst of energy has started flinging his head back a little just enough to hit me a few times in the mouth (not so fun). He also loves kicking during bath time. He is getting chubby little hands and feet and as you can tell in the pictures has a chubby belly and has filled out in his cheek since he was born. We also have discovered he has little blond hairs on his fingers and toes, I think that's pretty funny. Most people say he looks like his daddy or else they say he looks like us both. I don't mind because I think his daddy is pretty cute! :) Carter continues to bring us so much joy! We love him so much and are so glad he's in our family. I just wish sometimes he'd slow down his growing! I'm not ready for a big boy yet.

Very Thankfull
I have a lot to post about the past week but this is all for now. I was working over Thanksgiving so this post of thanks is a little late. I could not be more grateful this year for my life!!! All due to these wonderful two guys. It's amazing how much Carter has already grown!

Early Thanksgiving
Since I have to work this Thanksgiving, some of my family came up for an early Thanksgiving. My parents and one of my brothers and his family were here. It was so much fun having them all! Here's just a few pictures from the weekend.
My dad set up this pose for Carter, he thought it was pretty funny.
Three cousins.
My parents with three of their grandkids. I'll post some other pictures later.

Just some pictures
This is one his three month outfits. Can't believe he fits it already! Right now he's wearing 0-3months and just getting into a few of the 3mo ones.
Sucking his thumb in the swing.
Sleeping with his thumb.
So cute!
Chillin' with dad. I think these two always look so cute together!

Favorite Family Picture?
So I need some help picking a family photo to hang on our wall. A friend in our ward wanted to do some pictures of Carter and we love pictures of our boy so how could we refuse! :) Carter was about two months here. We decided to get quite a few with all of us so we could have a family photo and I also wanted to get some in his blessing outfit since he was getting blessed that coming Sunday. So let me know your favorite of the family photos...I think I know which one I'll probably end up blowing up but I'm curious to see which one other people like.
Choice #1 - I really like this one of Lance and I but of course Carter happened to fall asleep. :)
Choice #2 - This one I always kind of laugh at because I think Carter looks so huge in my arms. Do I look old enough to have a baby?! :)
Choice #3
Choice #4
And this is the one I'm thinking of getting blown up! j/k Carter was getting tired and fussy. We just love his little mad face (is that bad?!) but we think it's so cute sometimes. Since he was fussing (and we weren't done yet, mean parents!) we turned on the handy dandy blow dryer to settle him down. Unfortunately, it worked a little too well and he ended up falling asleep (see choice #1)...which is precious but just not quite what I was wanting.
Here's just some other cute one of our growing boy!

We absolutely love his smile and think he is just the cutest!!! He just makes me melt when he smiles like this.
